Big Brother Final 2010 and Ultimate Big Brother: 24 August 2010

I don't suppose anyone was too surprised at Josie winning the last Big Brother for mere mortals. For those who managed to resist it: Dave was second, Mario third, JJ fourth (I know) and Andrew was fifth and first out.

Straight after the final, the new house for the Ultimate Big Brother got up and running. With contestants like Nadia, John McCririck, Coolio and Nikki Grahame it looks like we're going back to the usual sort of show where everyone is backstabbing, bitching and arguing. For those who like this sort of thing, the presence of the now divorced couple, Preston and Chantelle, should make you ecstatic - well, happier than Chantelle looked when she saw her ex enter the house.

Big Brother: Semi-Final, 20 August 2010

Rest your beating hearts everyone, here's the news. In no particular order, Steve, Corin, Sam and John James got the old boot last night. This means Josie, Andrew, Mario, JJ (really?, yes) and Dave are in the final for Tuesday. What's the betting that Josie is this year's winner?

Eastenders: 9 August 2010

You miss just one episode of Eastenders and in the meantime Phil has changed from an ex-alcoholic, mother-beater, to a mother-beating, alcoholic drug addict. We are expected to believe that this happened in the space of three days in our version of reality. Admittedly, he would be upset that his children are no longer with him, but I can't imagine how Tanya's sister lured him into being a crackhead so quickly and completely. He even knows all the lingo - he knew what she meant about downers anyway - so I suppose his lost weekend hasn't been a complete waste of time.

Big Brother: Eviction Night, 6 August 2010

Rachel, of the Scouse accent, loud voice and chatty personality, has been evicted. Some might say they're not surprised, given this information and the way she annoyed fellow housemates late at night and early in the morning, but John James - who was one of her opponents - has been losing ground with viewers this week. He has not so much been spitting his dummy out as being somewhat annoyed by her presence, but this could be enough to ensure he is nominated again if not evicted.
